What is the Oxford Yes Group?

The Oxford Yes Group is a vibrant group of local people who have been organising events featuring inspirational speakers on the third Tuesday of the month since 2006. We promise you a warm welcome to a fun, friendly and supportive peer group, which delivers inspiring, educational and life changing events.

The meetings attract a wide range of people including students, professionals and pensioners. The only thing people have in common is an interest in personal development. The Oxford Yes Group is open to all and does not have any religious or political bias.

Regular Monthly Meetings with Speaker

The Oxford Yes Group attracts some of the best contemporary public speakers in the fields of personal development, health, relationships and spirituality. Most of the speakers encourage the audience to take part in exercises and group discussions.

About half of the evening is free for socialising.  We provide a finger buffet and hot drinks (including a variety of herbal teas).

Meetings include a short 'Members Announcements' session which you can use to promote other personal development events in Oxfordshire. You can also leave flyers on our table.

In 2014, the average attendance was about 34 people.

Please contact us if you are interested in speaking at one of our meetings.

The Oxford Yes Group is run on a not-for-profit basis and any surplus generated is distributed to the local community.

The speakers and Core Team give their time for free.

We are planning to organise a Basket Brigade in December. Please contact us if you have strong connections to local community groups who could help us reach out to those most in need.

Please refer to the News section for details of our recent donations.

History

The first Yes Group was founded in 1993 in London by Karl Pearsall and others who had participated in Anthony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within (UPW).  This is a very intense three-day program attended by thousands of people which is famous for including a firewalk.

They decided to meet on a regular basis to help each other live and breathe the Unlimited Power philosophy. This includes the need to create a "Seventh Power" - a group of people you trust implicitly; who believe in you and help you to continuously set higher standards for yourself whilst supporting you exactly where you are currently.

The Oxford Yes Group was founded in 2006 by people who had attended the London Group and UPW and has been meeting on the third Tuesday of the month ever since. The events since 2008 are listed in Previous Events.

There are about forty Yes Groups around the world.

Although inspired by Anthony Robbins, Yes Groups have no formal or commercial links with his organisations.
